Board Member Terri Swartz, the head of the STVR ad hoc committee was unaware that the rental fee was going up. Who is making the decisions and based on what facts? The BOD considering other options on the 400% rental increase? Will it return back to $100? How will the board justify the decrease? It is on the Agenda at this Friday’s board meeting August 27th at 1:30 PST What are your thoughts? Are you planning to attend the board meeting and see how it all plays out. I believe you are in error stating that Ms. Swartz was unaware of the increase. I suggest you reach out to her to clarify this. I listened to the recent HOA chat, and she was well aware of the proposed fee increases. She did, appropriately, say she does not know which way the HOA Board will vote concerning the fee proposals.

If additional revenue is needed.. I would suggest charging additional HOA fees for 2 bedroom condos And single family homes .. those who consume more services .. it’s as simple as why would a 1 bedroom condo pay the same fee as a 3 bedroom home who also pays no land lease fees.. this would eliminate the need to raise rental license fees.. (which is duplicative based on Cathedral City fees) … raise the golf fees by $5 round ..reduce that deficit .. that’s user based .. Thank you !

Why pay anything (i.e. $100) for using your property the way you see best fit? If the tenants, or the owners become a nuisance to the community, then the owner should pay. Through the nose!!! The HOA has the legal right to impose fines and and place lieans on properties that don't conform to CC&R. The HOA has NO legal right to treat owners different from each other (i.e. one pays a "fee" for a service and another doesn't).

You asked “Who’s running the show”! Obviously not the home owners that are paying exorbitant HOA fees!! I thought the board was made up of homeowners that would try to keep our fees down and look for way to keep them down. Instead they try to look for every possible way to nail us! First with the golf cart owners having to pay an extra $100 to own one, stating a bunch of garbage that they are hard on the roads etc. I can tell you my SUV is far harder on the roads than any golf cart! I solved that problem sold the golf cart so now I’ll drive my SUV around instead. Since that didn’t fly now they are going after the owners that rent. Maybe they should figure out ways to reduce our costs such as not planting flowers on home owners property probably a big savings there, not subsidizing the golf course probably another huge savings I’m sure the list goes on. I also think the board should only be able to run for 1 or 2 terms at the most. We need new members in with new ideas and limiting the board to only 1-2 terms will achieve that. I know it’s a thankless job as you’ll never please everyone but this board seems to have run its course. Definitely time for a change!

Who is running the show? That's easy. It is the for profit management trust. All employees here at DP are employees of the management trust. Each and every employee of the MT is also a profit center for the MT. How does the MT increase its profits? By increasing their employees. DP'S homeowners pay the salaries of all these MT employees after all, plus the cost of the contractors. Which bottom line is most important? DP'S bottom line or Management Trust's bottom line. You decide. Eventually the MT'S costs will become unsustainable. Desert Princess may well be bankrupt by then.

1000% agree with you Terry!!!! What the heck do all of these HOA employees do? WHO will actually benefit from the 400% rental fee increase? Management Trust and Allied Security. Management Trust CLAIMS we need another compliance officer, which ZERO data has been published for the homeowners and at yesterdays BOD meeting Peter Webb made it very clear that they will not be providing any. So MT says we need another compliance officer and they will PROFIT from that hiring.

Yesterday, My husband and I were enjoying the pool #32. Two men came in the area with there big boom boxes and Beer! They cranked the music so loud we couldn't even talk. We asked them to please turn down the music. One of the men said "I don't speak English.." Then we new they were just saying that and that they did speak at least some English. The other man used the restroom and came out and said GO TO HELL! I then asked them where they lived and they said F OFF. We then called security when they arrived they spoke with the two and told them to keep the music down really nothing they could do as they were invited by the owners who of course wasn't their. Things need to change as to whom is allowed to come into our environment. Rentals are different, but, Owners who have guest should be with these guests! We don't know who they are or where they came from! It is a different world that we now live in!
