Has any "polling" been done for this recall election? If it's close, what can we do to help ensure a positive outcome?

If successful, Mr. Webb's replacement will be voted upon by all owners in February 2022 along with 3 other Board positions that open up at that time. Several competent and committed owners have already signaled their intention to run at that time. This is an unprecedented opportunity for the residents to elect a Board that is open and transparent, one that will truly represent the interests of ALL owners, not just a small segment of the community.

With respect, a positive outcome would be to back away from this nonsense! What’s the real motive of those leading the recall petition? It seems to be a bunch of whiners that don’t appreciate all the volunteer work, planning and time that is provided by any Board member willing to put their name forward! Wait for the next AGM and election of new Board Members and put your name on the candidates’ list.

Your responsive comments to criticism of need for recall make sense.

Not sure if everyone is aware but I just found out that, even as homeowners, the HOA will NOT issue any card transponders anymore. We are only allowed a transponder if it is attached to a vehicle. So if you have a rental car you will need to purchase a transponder for $50 each time you visit, or you will be waiting in line at the main gate each time you enter. THIS was a board decision, not MT. This will no doubt create more work and time ie: expense for our security staff.

They also jacked up the cost of transponders, re-initiation, etc

I am glad to see that all transponders have to be attached to a vehicle. Homeowners were handing out their card transponders like candy at Halloween. We need to control who is coming and going through Desert Princess. With both gates open during the day, there are few lineups.

I am writing in response to the letter from next door neighbor of Peter Webb, namely Bill and Virginia Lattuer. It is unfortunate that each and every homeowner in DP cannot be a nextdoor neighbor to Mr Webb and thereby enjoy the wonderful relationship that Bill and Virginia enjoy. By their account he is a good neighbor. But the germain issue involves his position as President of the BOD.

In reply to the last email we received from the Littauer’s. I’m very happy that Perter is your neighbor, when was the last time you saw him? I really don’t care about your co-op in New York. I care what is happening at Desert Princess. Rules are not being followed, unnecessary money is being spent and a division of the community is being created because of Peter’s leadership.

What's the big deal about transponders for guests, passes are the norm in the desert for guests ever try to get a transponder at Mission Hills?

Oh ye of little faith, Mr. Stankus. Today's Desert Princess community is significantly different than it has been in previous decades. Success in any venture is never assured, but as the old adage goes, "Hope springs eternal.". That said, thank you for your kind wishes of good luck to those many owners who support this process.

“I can and will raise the dues” – Mr. Webb readily acknowledged that he did say this and regrets having done so.

The big deal with transponders applies to homeowners not guests. Unlike guests, one of the paid benefits for us owners is that we can use both gates and don’t have to line up - wasting our time and creating more work for security.

The recent recap of the "Board Chat" released by the board revealed that BOD President Peter Webb has recall issues. That is to say, when asked, Mr Webb cannot recall making statements that didn't land too well with homeowners at the last board meeting. When questioned specifically about these statements Mr Webb could not recall having uttered these statements but was absolutely certain that he did not. Selective memory at work. There is a simple remedy to this issue that can be found in the "Board Communique" issued on 10/14/21. Under the heading of "board meetings" the rules are laid out. I quote, "As a reminder, video or audio recording are prohibited by attendees."

The Board has confirmed all HOA meetings are audio recorded for purposes of transcription into minutes for homeowners. Perhaps destruction of these tapes should be delayed until such time as owners review these minutes for accuracy. If challenged, retention of tapes could serve to courteously jog memories of all participants.

There is no reason to request that the BOD retain their video tape of the meetings. Video taping in public is a Constitutionally protected right under the first Amendment. The Supreme court ruled that "there is no expectation of privacy in public" so no permission to video tape is required. Any citizen can be a member of the press. Any thing that can be seen from public can be video taped. Prohibition of video taping in public is a violation of the 1st. Amendmend which is the highest law in the land. It does not appear that in all instances the BOD has been completely forthright or honest in sharing details of their operations. Why bother with questionable history when our right to video tape the public meeting is perfectly legal?

Saturday, October 23rd people were campaigning in the community with leave-behind door hangers that stated RECALL PETER WEBB. And they were nice ones at that--heavy, laminated and not flimsy paper that would blow off the gates and doors and litter the community. Within a few hours most of these campaign door hangers were removed and one of the RECALL PETER WEBB yard signs that pepper the front yards of villas and the front porches of condos throughout the community were placed in the common use planter areas of 67295 Cumbres Court with a large X through it. That sign should be removed because it's on common area and per the "HOA Signage Rules" recently distributed by Management Trust, it is illegal and the person who placed it there should be cited and perhaps fined. Patrol Services is required to remove any signage on common use area immediately. Let's see how long it takes for them to take it down. If it was an illegally placed sign FOR the Recall of Peter Webb, the HOA would have Patrol Services on a dead run to get their butts over there and remove it ASAP. If management and/or Peter Webb instructed Patrol Services to remove the door hangers, they should be replaced immediately by Patrol Services because once again, it is against California Civil Code §4515 and is against the law.

Indeed. Peter Webb is not competent to be the President of the Board at Desert Princess. He lacks understanding of the California Civil Codes that govern HOAs.

While this board spent $15,000 just on a "concept" for a fire pit patio at the clubhouse, not even drawings, they EXPECT us to believe that moving the ladies tee box at Lagos 6 was less than $2,000??? Really??? They honestly think we are NOT paying attention.
