A Threat to transparency

At the last FAC meeting,  Peter Webb commented on homeowners questioning the transparency of the board and the FAC.
Peter stated that if this keeps up,  then the FAC will no longer be public.

This serves to strengthen the homeowner's belief that transparency is not part of the boards and the FAC mandates.
We need assurance from the board and the FAC that homeowners expressing their opinions will not result in the closing
of the public access to the FAC meetings?

The next board meeting is February 26th.   All comments can be submitted to [email protected].
The board is required to read your comments (limited to three minutes).  Let your voice be heard.

I must say I think this board is doing a great job. The community is gorgeous and meant for active people. I actually wish during this time of Covid that we invested further to beautify the community for our future and future home values. Would love to see a modernization of the restaurant/club and gates. Interest rates are so low it’s time to invest In this community’s future. With the building of arroyos the community should match the aesthetic and vibe. Get more young people to invest In DP.

As a 16 year owner at DP, I've lived through Boards that were secretive, dictatorial and arbitrary in decisions they made in our community. It took the efforts of several dedicated owners to effect a positive course correction in many of these destructive trends.
We need open governance to ensure accountability. Any threats or actions to close our community committees should be strenuously opposed. Such moves cry the question, What is the Board trying to hide?
Owners questioning transparency are to be applauded, not shut out. Constructive differences of opinion are healthy, not something to be discouraged. Great ideas come from all corners of our community. To pretend otherwise is defensive and thin-skinned.

I 100% agree with your point of modernizing the restaurant/club....walking in that building now is like walking back to the 70's. Just go down the street to Escena (pre covid) and their restaurant with bright/colorful umbrellas, very inviting and packed with patrons! Very opposite here. Also agree the aesthetic and vibe needs to be refreshed at the gates and throughout the community. Time for the dark brown painted condos to get a new color scheme (unfor. they were just painted again). We can still have the 'desert' theme but with better colors. the front gates and building should also be painted similar to arroyos colors

There was a lot of money spent just a couple of years ago to completely remodel the restaurant. I don't think any more money should be spent on this again. I believe that ship has sailed.

Why are we understaffed for pool maintenance? Why do we only have two pool cleaners for 34 pools? Isn’t it time we have our pools cleaned by professionals? This very important job of keeping our pool water safe for swimmers should not be left in the hands of ill trained maintenance people. They wait till absolutely necessary to clean the tiles, which should be done on a daily basis. Then you see maintenance women in the pool for two days scrubbing tiles. So very unprofessional.
